On Your Mark, Get Set: Website

To celebrate its 40th anniversary, Grandma’s Marathon and Swim teamed up and built a new website to make sure runners had the best experience during registration.

“I knew we needed a user-friendly web and mobile experience for our runners going into the 40th running of Grandma’s Marathon, and I knew Swim Creative could deliver it. With an extremely tight timeline, they were able to put together a custom site for us that is easy for us to work with and easy for our participants and partners as well. So far, the results have been outstanding!” – Shane Bauer, Executive Director

The new and improved website went live on September 29, 2015, just before registration opened on October 1st for all three races: Grandma’s Marathon, Garry Bjorklund Half Marathon and the William A. Irvin 5K.

The website received over 93,000 sessions within the first two months, with an average session duration 83% longer than the previous year.

Best of all, all three races have reached their maximum capacity within the first three months of registration. That hasn’t happened since 2008.

Let’s just say the 2016 Grandma’s Marathon weekend will be one you won’t want to miss.
