What We’re Reading in 2017

If you walk through the Swim office, you’ll find a stack of books on most of our desks. That’s because we’re always to learning (and re-learning) to keep our work fresh and you on your toes.

We also did a little research and discovered that ultra-successful people tend to read a lot.

“Read 500 pages like this every day. That’s how knowledge works. It builds up, like compound interest. All of you can do it, but I guarantee not many of you will do it.” – Warren Buffet, Huffington Post

Warren Buffet spends 80% of his day reading. We understand that isn’t feasible for everyone’s schedule and lifestyle. That’s why we’re challenging you to read one book this year that will help you grow and develop professionally.

Need ideas? Here’s what’s on our to-read list:

An oldie, but goodie: Shoe Dog: A Memoir by the Creator of Nike by Phil Knight

For the idea generators: Made to Stick: Why Some Ideas Survive and Others Die by Chip Heath and Dan Heath

For the data miners: Data-Driven Marketing: The 15 Metrics Everyone in Marketing Should Know by Mark Jeffery

Not just for writers: Everybody Writes by Ann Handley

If you influence, they will follow: The Conversion Code: Capture Internet Leads, Create Quality Appointments, Close More Sales by Chris Smith

For the people people: How to Get a Meeting with Anyone: The Untapped Selling Power of Contact Marketing by Stu Heinecke

Let’s cut to the chase: #AskGaryVee: One Entrepreneur’s Take on Leadership, Social Media, and Self-Awareness by Gary Vaynerchuk

What are you most excited to read this year?

Don’t have time to read every day? You’re in luck! We’re putting together a list of our favorite podcasts as well. (Stay tuned!)
