Marshall School came to Swim looking for a direct mail piece that would connect with alumni and parents, and encourage them to support the annual fund. It’s not easy asking for contributions, so our goal was to make this piece hard to ignore and inviting enough that the audience would want to interact with it.
To do this, we made the piece a self-mailer, so no envelope would conceal the main message. We wanted the copy to convey that what Marshall does is all about you, the community, so we displayed the school’s core values front and center.
We also designed it so the donation envelope interrupted the internal message, thus making it unlegible unless you removed it.
The result was an intriguing direct mail piece that served as a reminder of Marshall’s values and impact.
