Empowering a Great Nonprofit with Great Design: Dementia Friendly Duluth

Posted September 15, 2016 by swimcreative

Duluth, MN, is proud to be the home of many awesome non-profits. But with a neighborhood already brimming with great causes, how do you gather attention for a new one? That was the question posed by The Victory Fund and their new initiative, Dementia Friendly Duluth.

Dementia Friendly Duluth serves as a link that connects people, communities and ideas.

As an initiative, it facilitates partnerships among organizations, such as healthcare systems and long-term care facilities, in order to better support those affected by Dementia and Alzheimer’s—an important initiative when you consider that one in nine people over age 65 have Alzheimer’s.

To establish Dementia Friendly Duluth in the community and properly convey its purpose, we created a bold, simple monogram. It represents the community name of the initiative, along with the idea of connecting people and ideas. This iconic mark and its tagline, “Kind to All Minds,” will elevate Dementia Friendly Duluth as a catalyst for change and help people remember the name.

All these pieces came together on a one-page, straightforward website that acts as the perfect dementia resource center for Duluth.
