It’s June and you know what that means. Lilac season! And, of course, a new Swim’r of the Month. Get to know the perfecter of pixels himself, Swim designer Taylor Bjork.
By day, he’s creating super fresh branding and advertising for clients such as Northwest Wisconsin CEP, National Bank of Commerce, Duluth Homebrew Supply and Emily Larson‘s mayoral campaign. By night, he’s screen printing with STACK Prints and walking his new puppy.
Let’s get the full scoop.
01 // WHAT’S THE BEST PART OF YOUR JOB?
Seeing stuff I’ve made around town. It’s really cool to pass by a business that I made something for and see it realized and in action. When I was in high school I had this realization that everything you see was made by someone, and I wanted to put my spin on stuff. Now that I can, it’s cool to see it up in public.
02 // ONE QUOTE OR MOTTO YOU LIVE BY?
The man who has no imagination has no wings. – Muhammad Ali
03 // WHO’S YOUR DREAM CLIENT?
It’s hard to narrow it down to just one, but I think for me it would be an NFL team. I’m a huge football fan (go Vikes!) and there are so many cool things to make for them.
04 // SHARE SOMETHING THE TEAM MIGHT NOW KNOW ABOUT YOU:
I’m a sucker for superhero movies and legos. I’ve accepted that I’m a big 10-year-old a long time ago.
05 // HOBBIES OUTSIDE OF WORK:
I have too many hobbies to be adequately active in all of them! I’ve been skateboarding since I was 11, playing guitar, hiking/walking with my pup and girlfriend, house projects, screen printing, scootering around town, photography, video games, snowboarding, reading, volleyball…that can’t be it…
06 // ULTIMATE DESIGN PLAYLIST:
I LOVE heavy music, so when I’m looking to really get into the zone, that’s my go-to. Outside of that, I’m really into 60s, 70s, and 80s music like Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin, but I also like more modern stuff like The Black Keys and Jack White. I’m also into late ’80s/early ’90s hip hop.
